Yesterday for me was all about REST, RECOVERY & RE-ENERGIZE..!!
My last couple of busy work weeks & current exercise & training program had left me needing to get back to basics for the day.
Escape the phone, the business, the stress & noise we all get so used to dealing with every day.
I decided to fill my day with only things that would make me feel centered, give me an increase in vitality & help ground me in both mind & body!
Balancing out the YIN & YANG FORCES in life is challenging these days but critical to keep me feeling fantastic, injury & pain free!
It also helps to maximize the results from an increase in my current training program.
Tomorrow’s leg session would have been a grind otherwise, now it is going to be epic!!!
My day yesterday included….
A trip to the Organic markets early to beat the crowd,a swim in the ocean, rock Stacking, a relaxing bike ride, followed by a bush walk, a lay in the sun, Tai Chi & some breathing work.
I drew a Mandala in the evening to further wind me down for a great night’s sleep
I made myself walk, talk, think, breathe & eat at half my usually pace all day. That was challenging but well worth it!
& of course Nutrient dense Organic regular meals with plenty of clean drinking water throughout the day to fuel & nourish all my cells & thoughts!
Tonight i feel like a new person!
Fully recharged & ready to go again!
My take home message here is … listen to your bodies signals; it is continually telling you stuff about all sorts of things.
Drinking coffee or relying on stimulants & sugar to get you through the day when you are tired to often is like drawing money from a bank account that you don’t have any coin in..
Cultivate natural energy by slowing down occasionally & getting back to basics instead!
Exercising with too higher intensity or duration when you are tired is another one i see often.
If you are currently on a FAT LOSS mission & training hard & life is busy these types of days are essential & could be the piece of the puzzle you are missing to reach your goals.
The human body is a battery just like the ones you find in your TV remote, luckily we are of the rechargeable kind otherwise i know i would of gone flat years ago.
When you are tired YOU NEED TO REST & RECHARGE!
Exercising at anything more than low to moderate intensity with short duration when you are tired is actually counterproductive and quite an unhealthy choice to make!
